Hannover: Radical

antinazi

After the recordingsession we, Tom, his lady and yours truly, went to a leftwing bar in Hannover. Although I was not truly in party mood, I wanted to join them to a concert of 2 girls playing “experimental metal music.” We left after 5 minutes, since the music was horrible. I read afterwards the girls … Read more

The fantastic double bass player Klaus Janek, who I am lately working with, has a new website. On this new website you can, besides all information about his work and future plans, also  find some new sounds of both him and yours truly, which were recorded here in Berlin a few weeks ago. Berlin: Double Bass

Klaus Janek & Wouter Jaspers

Today I worked together with Klaus Janek on a new record, due to be released in the beginning of next year. Klaus plays the double bass with electronics and our styles of music blend very well. A tour in the beginning of May 2011 is scheduled, already looking forward to hit the road together!

At the moment I am working on many different projects, but my main focus gets out to a soundtrack I am doing together with Hamilton Caldwell for a short fashion film by young director Claire Kurylowski. But no less than two US presidents have referred to Kanye West recently: Barack Obama called him a “jackass” and – worse – George Bush mispronounced his name as “Conway”. … Read more

Maribor: Dedication

Blaze Bayley, former leadsinger of Iron Maiden, played tonight in the same town where John Fanning and myself performed: Maribor. We had the nice arty Gustav, he the grungy MC. Blaze had a rough carreer. Although his first band Wolfsbane was reasonably succesful, he switched to Iron Maiden to live the rock ‘n roll dream. … Read more

john fanning

My main man John Fanning is coming into town tonight. Tomorrow we’ll perform together in Maribor at the great Gustav. The day after we’ll perform a shock and awe extravaganza at Postgarage in Graz, where I’ll perform with the lovely Audrey Chen. Going south. Dig!

Tilburg: Results

v3-headss

Last week I sent Jos Smolder, producer and friend, a new track. He really disliked it: “no album material” was his verdict. I truly believed in it and after some editing, moving notes around and talking about it, it starts to become something beautiful. I like working so much, it shows you results.
