A light-sensitive chessboard that works as an octophonic audio panner: 64 light-dependent resistors route 16 audio signals to 8 outputs, so the pieces and hands on the board move sound through the room. Based on Lowell Cross’s board for John Cage and Marcel Duchamp’s Reunion (1968), first built for the installation Indeterminate Structures (2023) and released as a limited DIY kit.
