TS:70 Posthumous Feedback (2026)
On April 10, in the quiet grounds of the Neue St. Nikolai Friedhof in Hannover, an intimate tribute will take place in memory of Tom Smith, who would have celebrated his 70th birthday that day.
A sound installation by Tom’s good friend and artistic collaborator Wouter Jaspers, will capture the subtle electrical activity of the soil and the ongoing processes of Tom’s decomposition, transforming them into a field of raw, living noise. This to make Tom’s presence resonate once more; an elemental sound performance emerging from the place where he rests. It is offered as a final noise concert for a dear friend: a moment to listen, remember, and share in the strange continuity between life, sound, earth and the universe.
