Today one of my friends told me he met a girl and fell completely in love within 2 minutes. The only problem was that he was too shy to talk to her… In Japan they have a solution for this nasty problem; dvd’s so you can practise at home. I advised him to try them out. He wasn’t convinced.
A set of DVD’s entitled Miteru dake (translation: ‘Just looking’) by Avex are 96 minute videos of an array of women staring directly into a camera. The DVD’s are designed to help shy Japanese men gain confidence with women by practicing being in the presence of one – locked in a lengthy staring competition. The idea here being that if you can reduce your nervousness with the opposite sex with these DVD’s then next time you might just be able to talk to a real woman.
