Budapest: Body Art
Today I’ve visited a exhibition opening of the Budapest’ artist BMZ’s new work. He is famous for using a kitchen knife during a performance, cutting off his foreskin to give it as a ring to a girl in the audience. Verdict: sensation seeker. His art was presented in a very kitchy way, the audience consisted of 16 year old goth girls and as a performance during the opening he pinned a bird’s heart to his chest with a safety pin. I’ve seen bloody performances before, but this had no meaning at all… Pity.
