Over the last years I’ve become more and more intrigued by ghetto-rap culture. Especially the ‘poser mentality’, showing off with what you’ve earned: the camp necklaces, flashy over-the-top cars and the “Get rich or die trying” attitude towards life. Hussle our way to the top. Why? There are a thousand ways to say why it’s stupid and totally empty behaviour, but what else to do with your money if you need duffelbags to carry it? To come closer to my rapping peers I ordered a golden tooth some weeks ago and I’m counting the days till it will arrive here in Berlin. I am not the only one who’s down with the rap-esthetics, this is what artists make of it.
