I just read the New Yorker acticle “Noise Control” by Sasha Frere-Jones on noisemusic as a genre. In the article, the bassist Richard Hoffman, of the New York trio Sightings, said, “We are too noisy for the rock bills and too rock for the noise bills.” I understand him completely, i also hear it all the time, although i think i’m too dark for the folk audiences and too folk for the dark noise audiences… It’s a struggle!
